Upcoming SUST-STAM call for innovative companies in the stem cell and regenerative medicine sector

The University of Insubria, as lead partner of the SUST-STAM Project – cross-border insubric ecosystem for start-ups and excellence-driven companies in stem cell-based regenerative medicine, will soon publish a call for applications aimed at selecting companies that will be able to benefit from the project’s activities and incubation services.

SUST-STAM was created with the objective of developing a cross-border innovation ecosystem in the field of stem cell-based regenerative medicine, connecting and enhancing the scientific, clinical, and entrepreneurial excellence present within the cooperation area between the Canton of Ticino, the Province of Varese, and the Province of Novara.

The project aims to foster the creation and growth of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises by supporting the development of solutions with high technological and healthcare impact.

Opportunities available to companies

The call will allow selected companies to access two main support initiatives:

  1. Technical and scientific support for the development of manufacturing processes
Identification, definition, and technical-scientific support for the development of four manufacturing processes for culture medium components intended for stem cell applications. This activity will be carried out by the University of Insubria and will be reserved for companies selected through the call.

  2. Incubation Programme in Gerenzano
An incubation programme for 2 to 4 companies, which will be conducted at the Gerenzano facility of the Fondazione Istituto Insubrico Ricerca per la Vita, the organization responsible for delivering this activity.

The call, including participation requirements, application procedures, selection criteria, and relevant deadlines, will be published shortly.

Interested companies are invited to follow future updates to learn all the details and participation procedures.
